Any gunsmiths here? new
#272157 - 01/05/06 04:44 PM

I have a new Savage .22-.250 bolt action rifle. I really like the Savage rifles but this one seems to have a feeding problem. The shells don't seem to want to feed correctly when cycling the bolt. I have heard quite a few complaints about this, but I bought it anyway. So, what does it take to correct this problem? Is it something that will take care of itself with a little wear time?

Mike,

Can you thoroughly describe the failure to cycle smoothly from start to finish. Without a little more description it may be tough to decipher your problem. But I'm not a gunsmith, just taken apart my fair share of rifles.
