Thanks, Brian! We had a great time! This event far surpassed our expectations! Thanks for letting us shoot ur Glock 9mm...my wife liked it very much.

The auto shoots were fantastic. I loved the .45 thompson. I was surprised but how stable and smooth it was with little recoil, considering that it was a WW2 weapon. Although for some reason, I could not hold my auto on target for long. Blame it on my inexperience. Bill and Francis did not have any problems bringing the thompson on target at full mag auto. The MP9 was such a sweet weapon. Having fired it before, it was really nice to revisit it again. Very smooth, low recoil, and easy to control even for me. I was able to hold full auto on target. Love it! The final auto weapon was the Squad Assault Weapon. Clay said that in the squad, there are 2 SAW gunners. For such a large gun, I was surprised to find that it was possible to fire it from the shoulder, although not for many rounds, because of the weight of the weapon. Bipod firing was of course the most stable, but even for me, at full auto for 20-25 rounds, it did rattle my head a little. Very nice weapon to fire and to have on your side provided that u are not the one having to lug it around all the time.

What I really found outstanding, for a gun novice like me, was the instructions on hand gun shooting that Clay gave after the auto shoot. I felt that he instructed extremely well on the basic tenets of hand gun shooting and shooting in general and I felt that my shooting skills would vastly improve the next time I pick up a gun. At least now I have some theoretical knowledge on how to shoot straight. We were very impressed. Clay was professional, instructed very well, and had a wealth of practical knowledge to impart to us.

The icing on the cake that night was the 50 caliber sniper rifle. I think it is the M107. http://www.inetres.com/gp/military/infantry/rifle/M107.html
We did not imagine that we would get to shoot it or even touch that weapon. We were content to just observe it in action. But JT, the owner of the M107 from Bill's had 10 rounds 0.50 caliber rounds with him and after firing the first shot to test this cherry weapon, invited all of us to shoot it for free! I knew that to be able to shoot a 50 caliber sniper rifle is a one-in-a-lifetime chance. Even in the military, only a extremely select few would have that chance to shoot it. My wife needed a lot of coaxing and encouragement from both Clay and JT, together with a lot of reassurances that the weapon would not hurt her, before she was able to be convinced to give it a try. Thanks JT and Clay. I think not many girls in the world can claim to have fired a 0.50 caliber sniper rifle! All of us fired it in prone position and it was definitely apprehensive to shoot it. The power and report from that rifle was awesome for a bystander!!! But it was relatively easier on the shooter. All of us managed to hit the target!

I will be posting some more photos once I get back from work. But in the meantime, I want to thank Brian for organizing such a great IDA event. Really outstanding!!
