Where to shoot trap?
#391563 - 09/29/06 04:36 PM

Is there anyplace you can leally shoot trap, like bring my own thrower and targets, and shoot? public land? Sure I live very close to a gun range, but that's pretty spendy, and I'm not any good, so I'd like to save myself some embarrassment too. no one in my family ( that I know of) has any land to shoot on.

Keep your eyes open and you can get Trap shells at Wally world and some shops when they run specials. No there not AA’s but they shoot fine for trap. My dad picked up a case for $1.99 a box. You can not reload for that price!
You might also be surprised at how cheap you can shoot 25 birds for at a club Most clubs are around 6 – 8 bucks for 25 birds. And for not thinking you are going to be good, how will ya know. Where there are guys with guns there is always help! If there is a club close, just stop by and watch to see what it is about!
Just 3cents worth…you know inflation

West End Gun club in Rosemount is open on Sunday to the public. I think its $7 or $8 for 25 targets They sell shells but you can bring your own. I think its from 10am to 3pm Its located north of Rosemount about 2 miles on Hiway 3 on the right hand side. I don't know anywhere where you can bring your own thrower.

No its open to the public every day. If you come on a weekday though you have to work around the league schulde. It's not that bad. the most that I've ever seen anyone wait is 5-10 minutes

They are open every day from 8am to 4pm from now to the end of deer hunting. If you go to their web site (oakdalegunclub.org) they even have a $5 off internet special coupon you can print out.

If you are looking for a fun, relaxed time, check out the Hampton Sportsman's Club in Hampton. 25 miles south of St. Paul on Hwy 52.

They are closed for the season now, but they open in April.

The guys always got the grill going, cooking up wild game to munch on and the beer is $1.50/can.

Good group of guys!
