Pulled the marten/fisher line yesterday. Took 3 male fishers and a marten on the first check. Decided to pull on the second check regardless of catch - and wouldn't you know it........a small female fisher was waiting for me. There is just something intoxicating about skunk essence on a sub-zero breeze.......
Overall - I can not complain. 2 checks, 26 traps per check, 5 target critters......
Now the long wait until the NAFA auction check arrives......

Wats - Thanks. I was somewhat surprised. Historically I have done poorly on the first check, but this season I had 4 animals(personal best for me for a single check) on the first check. This was after a 3day wait(72 hour check law with killing sets). This was in 2 dozen sets. I had a male fisher in my first set - and a marten in my last set that day....made for a nice start and finish.
NExt year I can be one of the guys that says "the 9-day season is PLENTY of time to get the limit...."....lol.
