picture problems?

ok ive had and heard of others trying to put pictures on the site and getting the only pics of gif or jpg are allowed but mine and others ive read are jpg and wont load?? if its something im doing wrong please help or if its on the sites end please check

I noticed the file size on this image was huge when I received it so I downsized it. After that it uploaded without issue.
