The #1 place to find sheds is the most recent rub you can find and if you dont find them then ck every week or two and eventually he will lose them in that area after mid january, but wear your orange who knows what doe season they have going on they seem to be going later and later..sounds crazy but I got my dad to go with me last year and sure enough as soon as we came up on some rubs ,before I could get the words out to start looking ,right down the path was both sides of a young 8pt.Well anyways I have found them anywhere from 2" of water to 15 ft up a tree....so just keep your eyes open...

One thing I find that helps me a lot, is turning around. I find probably 50% of my horns turned looking back, or to the sides of where I just came from. When I'm hunting I take a few steps forward, all depends on the cover I am in, then stop and scan. I look good from the 9 o'clock position to the 3 o'clock position, then turn 180 degrees, and rescan. Binoculars are also an integral part of my shed hunting. One can save a lot of time and energy, by utilizing the binos. Good Luck!
