Guys, I know we were tossing around the idea of doing the class as a group. But I can't wait any longer. I just signed up for the May 29 class, 5pm to 9pm at Bills Circle Pines location.
The class is $100. You bring 100 rounds and your handgun. Spots open.

Jon, Can you direct me to a website that has all of the ins and outs of the permit to carry? I don’t have a permit but am curious about the process of obtaining one, who can and can’t have a permit, the rules of a permit and etc….
Thanks.

Very easy to do.
Go here:
http://www.dps.state.mn.us/bca/CJIS/Documents/CarryPermit/PermittoCarry.html
There is a Q&A section to read up on. Print out the application. Take the class and pass. Submit the paperwork. The sheriff MUST issue the permit. Assuming you are not a criminal or nutcase, you cannot be denied your right to carry a firearm!
Sign up. If you need any help, need to borrow a handgun just let me know. I bet the Better Half would like her permit too.

Just one more note to anyone thinking it over. The class, application process and all paperwork - everything is the same for a new permit or renewal permit. It takes about 30 days for the Sherriff to do all of the background checks. So check those expiry dates, it's been 5 years for a lot of us!
