Yesterday I set up my new portable and climbing sticks up in the front yard tree. Besides freaking my neighbors out, and embarrassing the wife, I decided to do a once over on my safety harness. I set it up ground level, just as you would in a tree, and let the harness support my weight just off the ground. Let's just say it was a good thing I checked it 6 inches off the ground and not 20 feet up a tree! My harness started to rip and would have eventualy tore away completely. The harness is quite a few years old and not taken care of so to speak. Upon further inspection, most if not all of the seams were frayed and not looking so good! So when you're checking your gear before the upcoming season, take a second and look at your harness, it may save your life. Let's all have a safe hunting season!
