Hey guys,
I'm lookin for a bit of scouting advice here...I have a piece of property that I will be hunting the first and third weekend of October. I'm trying to figure out what the best approach will be to hunt this spot.
The spot is fairly large, and has a good mix of crops close by as well as large stands of oaks. Since its prolly going to be a little early for the big boys to start chasin, should I still concentrate on food sources, or switch over to pre rut patterns??
If food sources is the answer, would you reccomend targeting the Oaks or stick with the Crops???
Early October always seems to throw me through a loop!

I would stick with food early. Find a nice big oak tree, along a bean or cornfield Good luck and keep us posted how it goes

Oaks in October is where I would be as well. Throw in a rub line, scrape line, or both and it should be an interesting time in the woods.

Thanks for the replies guys
A Good stand of Oaks was kinda what I was leaning towards, but I tend to second guess myself sometimes
The property appears to have a real nice oak ridge that runs perpendicular to a couple crop fields, so it should set up nicely..
