In the Market for a New Yellow Lab Pup
#603142 - 08/27/08 10:29 AM

Well, my current Yellow Lab Maddie will be turning 8 this fall and my wife and I are in the market for a new pup. Does anyone know of a good breeder that will be having pups soon? We got Maddie from Cherry Grove Kennels in Kenyon, Mn and are Very pleased with her! Any place in Wi or Mn would be fine. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'll echo the suggestion made by rousterrouster - As I picked up a pup from the same breeder in Dassel around Christmas time last year. Could not be happier with this dog (Brittish Lab). I'd urge you to take a hard look at the the Brittish bloodlines. Much calmer dogs - and they don't tip the scales at a hundred pounds. Smaller overall, but still very muscular. Nice blocky head - classic looking dog, but not a brute. Feel free to PM me as well if you'd like more info.

Do you know there website. Has anyone heard of Cashman Kennels in Elko. They look to have nice pointing Labs. I mainly Upland hunt, not sure if my style of hunting Pheasants is conducive to a pointing dog though. Guess it's all in how you train them.

Cashman's have some very nice dogs. If you have heard of Rik's Risky Raider, Raider is from Cashman's/Holzinger's.

I would also recommend checking out Sauk River Pointing Labs...if a pointing lab is something your interested in. If not, they still have great dogs that can still be flushers.

We have 1 beautiful light yellow (cream) male pointing lab puppy available for adoption. Born 6-21-08 and is 10 weeks old 8-30-08. He is being raised in our home with lots of TLC and is worked with daily. Sire & dam are yellow from Old English lines, both have strong registered bloodlines, are excellent hunters (upland game & waterfowl) and wonderful family pets! His dew claws are removed, first 2 vaccinations, wormed (3 x's) and vet checked, checked out perfectly! A friend of ours uses this site and thought we should tell you about our pups. If you would like more pictures and/or more information please don't hesitate to contact us by phone, 785.562.2884 or email, fehrless@bluevalley.net

Thanks all! I have contacted Legend Gun Dogs, looks like they have a couple options coming up. Hope she turns out to be as good as my current dog.
