Early Goose Pics - 2008
#603330 - 09/02/08 09:20 AM

Season is a day old in Wisconsin already. Anyone have any luck yet?

I am getting a little nervous for the upcoming weekend as I have yet to find the golden ticket for Saturday's opener in Minnesota. Hopefully it cools down soon and the activity picks up.

MM

The forcast is looking good for temps later in the week. Lets hope they add a few clouds in for good measure. I'm making my milk run tommorow. Let's keep our fingers crossed. BTW... Even if you only see the sunrise from a blind it's better than not being in the field.

I'm looking forward to a nice cool weekend for a change. When it's 80 plus goose hunting it gets interesting. Then throw the squito's into the mix. I saw some 40's for lows this week. Let's hope that doesn't change.

My brother got 15 yesterday with friends in S. WI and DB and his crew got 10, but I am still baiting bear. Saw five this a.m. though, so you can tell they have been moved.

Haven't show any birds around hudson. Neighbor was fishing on the apple river by amery and said he saw several on the water mid-morning.
Pray the cooler weather stays around with maybe some clouds and light rain.
Bring on fall and winter. I am tired of this hot weather!!!

I have been scouting Geese for the last two weeks & not finding a lot in the area. Have asked a number of farmers for permission to hunt their fields & no one has given an ok. I get someone else is hunting them or a flat out no. No birds on the water to speek of, the only ones I can find are in pastures that have potholes but also have cattle around them, won't even bother to ask there. Looks like I took the week off for nothing.
