Our early teal season opened in Nebraska this weekend and I joined a few buddies for a great hunt this morning. We didn't get a lot of birds due to the thick fog that kept rolling in and out but we had a great time and it was a beautiful morning to be in the marsh.
My first pic shows how thick the fog was when we were walking to our spot. You can tell from a few of the other photos how the fog banks would roll through. The best shooting came when the sun would come out. Those little teal sure are hard enough to hit without fog. By the time you could see them in the fog they were almost straight above you.

Fog or not, at least you were out there! DT

ive heard the reason the nothern states dont get an early teal season, is because we are "duck producing states". so i guess that means we make em, so other states can shoot them. im not really sure if i would be for a teal season anyways, it just screws up opening day even more, but hey if it were to one day, youd bet ide be out there. and by the way, open up swan and sanehill hunting too! those sandhills sure are tasty!!!
