I just talked to a friend of mine today and got permission to 320 acres of awesome big buck land. My buddy only hunts it during rifle season and said he usually shoots the first deer he sees withing the first 2 days of the rifle season. Before and after that I will have it to myself. I have permission for bow and muzzleloader and I could hunt rifle after he gets his dear if I want to. I seen a MONSTER buck while fall turkey hunting out there last year. The place has a couple of creeks that run through it too. It also has 4 small ponds and the creeks are lined with oak trees. The only draw back is that half of the land is leased for grazing cows until the end of this month. I hated those cows while turkey hunting last fall. They will blow it for you before squirrels will.
I might have to try to get a couple of tree stands in this weekend.

Good news for sure Ben With 320, you should have plenty of "Go To" spots, no matter what the wind conditions

I hear ya about getting permission to hunt new land. I went up last weekend and talked to an old gal thats 94, yep 94 to ask if I could hunt some of the timbers shes got on her three farms. She told me that she still coon hunts at her age and told me the timbers were full. I left there and though that her and her friends must hunt the timbers so no big disapointment there.
I was givin permission to hunt a timber last year thats owned by some dairy farmers. When they gave me permission last year they told me to bring as many guys as I can to help them get rid of the deer because they were damageing thier corn that they were feeding to thier dairy cows. Im going up again tomorrow to see if I can still hunt it this year, hopefully they say yes again. If they do Its going to be a real nice hunting season. A new timbers fun to check out and its always nice to have a few more timbers to hunt then the ones you hunted last year.

Come on down boys!
I might buy a trail camera and set it up out there in the next week or so. I'd really like to see what is all out there.
I was told that one of the neighbors shot a huge non-typical last year. My buddy Ron said the thing was ugly it was so narly.
