I shoot a 12 yr old red label and am not sure what you mean? It sounds like you might need a gunsmith. I just checked my gun and I can pull the trigger on both barrels without the gun to my shoulder at all. Two pulls, two hammers dropping......

Ditto Timmy.
Ruger Red Label's have mechanical triggers, so either your gun has a problem, or your somehow not letting up on the trigger after the first shot. ???

I just purchased a Red Lable this summer, and had the same problem right out of the box. I quickly learned that I was not letting off of the trigger before trying to fire my second shot. I quickly learned to take my finger off the trigger completely, and have had no problems since.
