I am buying a non-resident license to hunt the 2nd weekend (Nov 29/30th...). Hunting near Mosinee (Just South of Wausau...). My question is this...What does my $160 license fee get me? Can I shoot buck or doe? Can I shoot two deer??? Couldn't find good information on there website. Thanks! RR

All units surronding Wausas are Herd control units. WHich means it's brown it's down. With your license you should get at least 1 herd control doe tag. you can purchase addtional doe tags at the cost of $2. That cost is only in the herd control units. So you can shoot as many as your wallet can afford or your truck can haul.
It does say this in the regs but you have to look a tliitle for it. You will find it under license privledge information on page 6 in the table. The zone info is on the big map on pages 28-29.
Good luck on your hunt!!!

You can shoot one buck and bonus tags are unlimited as you are in a herd management.

You will get one antlered (at least one 3" spike to be considered antlered) and one antlerless with the regular license fee. Then it is $2 for each additional antlerless. Are you hunting on private or public?

Private and they have been practicing QDM on it for 6 years so I'm pretty pumped! Just got the license and it comes with a buck tag and a doe tag! RR

Which side of Mosinee? I live in Wausau. There are some nice deer in the area. Good luck!

I want to be in a "herd control" area. just to see more than one deer a day.

why does it seem like all the good hunting spots are always out of reach. I live in MN and I dont think I will ever see a herd of deer unless I wander into a ranch or something.
