Hi everyone! First of all, congrats to those of you that scored this year! And as for Mr. Juarie Unbelievable Brad, great job on another stud! As for me, this year was bitter sweet. My oldest scored on his first rifle deer of his young hunting career and my youngest almost scored opening morning but made a wise decision not to take an iffy shot. I couldn't be more proud of both of them. I think that the 2 of them will put the hammer down on a lot of deer in the future. I, on the other hand really stunk the place up so to speak! I'm not sure what others experienced, but I just didn't see much movement, basically nonexistent where I was hunting. I hunted for 9 days straight, most of them all day sits, lots of hours in the woods with hardly a deer sighting. I also didn't see much of a rut. The area I hunt doesn't see much pressure, but they all seemed to be almost 100% nocturnal by Monday. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes! I may be able to get a little muzzleloader action in come December, but for the most part I'm wrapping it up for the year and getting ready for some ice fishing! Good luck to those of you still hunting!

It can't get worse, can it ????

G, I may have to rethink packing it up for the year. My dad has been hunting all day since Sunday, and nothing! 1 little doe. I think that the bucks have the does tended up and only moving when they do. Late season may be the ticket this year??!!

I used to live in Kimberly touwnship while I was growing up, we had the same thing there, if you went into the tamerac swamps, you would find some bucks, but tasted funny. we did ok up in Park Rapids, I took 2 bucks, 4pt and a spike, my little little bro 3pt, my other little bro 8pt, his wife 4pt, dad a bambi with little hard spots on the head. that is all I have heard of so far, haven't checked back in since last friday.

I think late season is the ticket. The 2nd phase of the esturs cycle should start soon. The big bucks will hopefully show themselves during daylight hours - along with good weather.
