Meat Stuffer new
#610069 - 11/17/08 09:55 AM

Hey guys, decided it was time to buy a meat stuffer. I'm just not sure which one to get. If anyone has any ideas on which kind, size etc. To get that would be great. Thanks Wilson.

Clarence and I have decided the time has come too! After $185 for 23# on Venison to be made to sticks! Can have it paid for in a couple years I'd guess. Not sure how big of one to get either.

This pass summer I decided too buy a NICE grinder, 1.75HP cabelas. The thing works great, 22# a min. But its time too get a nice stuffer to go along with it, but there's so many to choose from.

We have the lem 11# horizontal stuffer. Our group usually processes about 3-6 deer per year and have found it to be a great investment. Any quality stuffer will serve you fine.

It comes with the stuffer stuff but I would rather not have to run it though the grinder again.

Check out Gander Mtn. They have several styles and parts.
My buddy's horizontal stuffer broke he absolutely hated it! He bought a vertical 5# with a gear crank this year. We'll be using it in a couple weeks so I don't know how it works yet. The reviews looked great.

You can also get stuffing plates with 4 large holes for your grinder so it doesn't re-grind the meat as it stuffs. I used my hand grinder and largest plate for stuffing summer sausage and it worked fine although it was re-grinding.

Time for a "Sausage Party"...now that just sounds wrong

I saw nothing on the invite about sheep. Venison only.

I found the best way to go is to have your neighbor buy all the nice processing tools then borrow them from him

Just remember Wilson I'm the beneficiary in you will for all your processing stuff in case of a freak grinding accident. Ever seen Fargo

I also have the cabelas grinder. I bought the cabelas 20# stuffer, and bought the foot control so I can stuff on my own. (Guess that means I like playing with my own sausage?)
Well worth the investment. Easy to use/clean/and works great. PM me if you have any questions. WTA
